PLATTSBURGH, NY - Thomas Robert Stuart, 76, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023, at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the only child of Margaret Mary Stuart (Reilly) and George Calvin Stuart. After graduating from Clearview Regional High School (Mullica Hill, NJ) in 1965, Tom joined and served in the United States Navy faithfully until 1969. He went on to study aeronautics in Philadelphia, PA. In 1971 he began his lifelong career of 37 years with Mobile/Exxon-Mobile Research and Development Corporation in Paulsboro, NJ. Thomas is survived by his wife of 54 years, Theodosia Marie Stuart (Bruno); his daughters Christine Boulé (Stuart) and Lori Mott (Stuart); his son-in-laws Michael Boulé and James Kevin Mott; his grandchildren Reilly (Boulé) and Anthony Tebbano, Nathaniel Boulé, Abigail Boulé, Gillian Boulé, Aiden Mott, Lucas Mott, and Cameron Mott. Thomas is also survived by his brother-in-law Thomas Bruno. Tom was predeceased by his parents and in-laws Mario and Theodosia Bruno. A special “Thank You” to the staff of CVPH, especially the staff on the fifth floor for their care and compassion given to him and his family. Thomas was a devoted husband, cherished father, and beloved grandfather. His love for his wife Teddi, was a testament to unwavering devotion. He was a pillar of support and adoration for his two daughters and two son-in-laws, embracing them as his own. His heart overflowed with affection for his eight grandchildren, each holding a special place in his life. Retirement brought him to the serene embrace of the Adirondack mountains in NY, where he found solace and joy amidst nature's beauty. His passion for rescuing golden retrievers mirrored his compassionate nature, nurturing and caring for these furry companions. Fishing was more than a hobby; it was a cherished tradition shared with all his grandchildren, fostering unforgettable bonds and creating timeless memories. The serene melodies of loons filled his heart with tranquility, while skiing brought him exhilarating joy. Yet, his deepest happiness radiated from moments spent with friends and family, where laughter echoed and stories flowed freely. His legacy will forever be intertwined with the mountains he loved, the dogs he rescued, the fish he caught, and most importantly, the love he shared with all those fortunate enough to know him. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched. A celebration of Thomas’ life will be held at a later date.
