Saranac Mr. Thomas A. Tucker, 64, of Chazy Lake Road in Saranac, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2010 at his home. He was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y. on January 23, 1946, the son of the late Hiram and Marjorie (Brunell) Tucker. Thomas served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. After his discharge, he worked as an auto mechanic until 1980 when he became a corrections officer at Clinton Correctional Facility until his retirement. He enjoyed snowmobiling and was a member of the Trail Groomers Snowmobile Club. He also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and was an avid outdoorsman. He is survived by two sons; Brian Tucker of Rouses Point and his children Reece and Madalyn, Joseph Tucker of Peru and his fiancée Amy and her son Michael, his siblings; Forrest Tucker of Morrisonville, Marion and David Justus of Morrisonville, Martha and Terry Flatt of Plattsburgh, Ann and Ron Kent of Saranac, several nieces and nephews, many close friends including his neighbors Warren and Sylvia Newman of Saranac, and his former spouse Jan Sutherland of Burnt Hills, N.Y.. More than just being a relative or friend, he was a giving man who's joy in life came from helping others. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 3 Park Row in Cadyville.
