Timothy James "Zoomo" Armstrong, 52, of Station Street, Altona, NY passed away on Monday June 4, 2012 at his home with his family by his side under the care of Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Plattsburgh on November 2, 1959 the son of James and Bertha (Hemingway) Armstrong. Tim worked for the Laborers Local 186 in Plattsburgh. He enjoyed playing horse shoes, spending time with family and friends, hunting and fishing. Tim was predeceased by his father James Armstrong and a great-nephew Brady Dragon. He is survived by his mother Bertha Armstrong of Altona, five sisters; Darlene Orzel and her husband Edward of Spencerville, Ontario, Melody LaFave and her husband Leo of Irona, Cynthia Cushman and her husband Donald of West Chazy, Carol Lopez and her husband Jay of Mooers, Terri Swinton and her husband Lance of Mooers and Melinda Hilliker and her husband Jason of West Chazy, nine nieces and nephews; Heather, Marty-Jo, Robbie, Joey, Kayla, Katrina, Bryant, Kiley and Savanah, nine great nieces and nephews; Victoria, Payton, Justin, Coty, Keegan, Gavin, Lily and Owhan, several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive him as well as his cousin David Hemingway of Mooers, who was like brother to him, his special friends; Walter and Julia Lafave of Altona, Steve Gero of Altona and so many others we can not possibly list. Tim's family would like to thank the Altona Fire Department and the many friends whom have given so much support and love during his illness. A memorial service and celebration of Tim's life will be held on Saturday June 23, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at The Camp on the ARMC Way in Altona. Donations in Tim's memory may be made to Altona Fire Department, VFW in Champlain, Post 1418 or Masses in his memory at Holy Angel's Church.
