Timothy M. Leary

Timothy M. Leary, 67, of Plattsburgh, passed away on October 10, 2024 at his home with his family by his side under the care of Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Mount Clemens, MI on February 14, 1957, the son of Douglas and Barbara (Keller) Leary. Tim graduated from St John's Central high school in1975. He graduated from Clinton Community College in 1978 and SUNY Oswego in 1985. Tim then began his career as a vocational horticulture instructor for the Department of Corrections, retiring from Clinton Correctional Facility in 2016. Tim was active in youth sports, he could often be seen officiating basketball for local schools or on the sidelines coaching his children. Tim also had a great passion for plants and flowers. He took great pride in the his landscaping business and green house he maintained for many years. Tim married the former Susan Osborne on January 8, 1983, she survives him. He is also survived by his children, Kevin of Ft Myers fl, Patrick, and Megan (Kyle) Carter both of Plattsburgh, grandchildren Owen Leary, Kase Carter and Jasmine Leary, sister Karen Duprey and her companion, Thomas Speedling. He also leaves behind his sister and brother in laws Sally Osborne and David Greenwood, and Steven and Tina Osborne and numerous nieces and a couple of nephews. Tim was pre-deceased by his parents Douglas and Barbara Leary, his sister Kathryn Leary, his mother and father in law Richard and Nelda Osborne and sister in law Sharon Reno Tim's family would like to thank Hospice of the North Country and dear family friend, Brenda Mussaw for the care they gave to Tim and the support they gave to us, his family. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday October 16, 2024 at 1:00 pm at St. John's Church in Plattsburgh. Donations may be to Hospice of the North Country.
