Vera A Manion

Vera A. Manion, 96, of Plattsburgh, passed away on Saturday October 1, 2022 at the Clinton County Nursing Home. She was born in Morrisonville, NY on April 14, 1926 the daughter of Roy and Ida Mae (Keysor) Bellows.

She attended Morrisonville Community Church, where she married her husband Robert on January 1, 1947.
Vera always had a smile on her face and everyone enjoyed her loving, cheerful spirit. She worked at Sears in Plattsburgh for many years and her hobbies were crocheting, basket weaving, sewing, macramé, bingo and card playing. In 1971 Vera and Bob moved to Milton, FL to be to closer to their son Kenneth while he served in the U.S. Navy. They moved back to Plattsburgh in 1991. Her home was always hospitable with the “Coffee Pot” on for visitors.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Robert, her son Kenneth Manion, a brother Eugene Bellows, a granddaughter Tonya Couture, a daughter-in-law Betty O’Neill and a brother-in-law Oswald Lawliss.

Vera is survived by a daughter, Carol (Jeffrey) Manion-Martin, a sister; Wanda Lawliss, a sister-in-law Geraldine Bellows, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive her.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday October 5, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 pm in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at West Plattsburgh Union Cemetery.
