Plattsburgh Mrs. Veronica May Grom, 90, of Smith Street, Plattsburgh and formerly of Vale Haven in Peru, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2014 at the CVPH Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born in Plattsburgh, NY on August 30, 1923, the daughter of Thomas and Mabel (Pritchard) Beaudin. Veronica enjoyed cooking and baking for her family on any occasion and loved visiting with her grandchildren. Veronica was a member of St. John's Church. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Vincent J. Grom, one son Thomas Witt, two brothers; Frank Bodah and Thomas P. Beaudin, her sisters; Mary Beaudin, Beatrice LaVigne, Laura Bird, Ethel Adams and Lena Hubner. Veronica is survived by two sons; August Grom and his wife Kathy, Vincent Grom and his wife Tammy; a daughter Carol Washington, a daughter-in-law Lenora Witt, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, three special nieces Florence Rivers, Ruth Wheeler and her husband Charles, Florence Donah and her husband Furmen, several nieces, nephews and friends she made at Vale Haven in Peru and Skilled Nursing at CVPH Medical Center also survive her. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, January 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Church. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in the spring.
