Plattsburgh Sister Veronica Perrotte, 98, was called to her eternal reward on Sunday, July 26, 2009 at Evergreen Valley Nursing Home, 8 Bushey Boulevard, Plattsburgh, NY. She was born in Plattsburgh, March 25, 1911, the daughter of Joseph Perrotte and Eva Lynch. Sister entered the Sisters of Charity of St. Louis and made her vows at the Provincial House on February 12, 1934 in Bienville, P.Q., Canada. Sister graciously fulfilled the positions of Provincial Superior, local Superior, Principal and Teacher. Throughout her 50 years of teaching she was assigned at OLVA in Plattsburgh, NY, Sallaz Academy in Redford, NY, Our Lady of Grace Academy in Keeseville, NY, St. Mary Magdalen's in Oakville, CT, St. Bridger's in Cheshire, CT, and St. Joseph's in Brookfield, CT. During her retirement years Sister graciously accepted to go to St. Patrick's in Rouses Point, NY. On May 26, 2004 due to heath problems Sister began her residency at Evergreen Valley Nursing Home. Her special interest was in music, painting, crafts, knitting, crocheting; she enjoyed reading, bowling, bingo, crossword puzzles, etc. ON April 29, 2009 Sister participated in her 75th Jubilee celebration which was held at the convent of the Sister of Charity of St. Louis. Her religious family and blood family joined her in the celebration. Survivors include her sister, Patricia Gonyea and her husband Merrill of Malone, NY. She also has many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by both her parents, her bother, Francis Perrotte and her sister Adelaide Rennell. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 from 9:00 am to 10:45 am at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad Street in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am July 28, 2009 from Our Lady of Victory Church. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
