Viola L Baker

Plattsburgh Viola L. Baker, 86, of Beekman Towers, Plattsburgh, NY passed away on Sunday March 14, 2010 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Tupper Lake, NY on April 7, 1923 the daughter Colice and Edith (Derosia) Baker. Viola enjoyed crafts, quilting and BINGO. She also enjoyed going out to dinner with her family and doing crossword puzzles. She was predeceased by her husband Sanford Baker, Sr. who passed away in 1978, three sons; Sanford Baker, Jr., Donald Baker and Arthur Baker, five brothers, two sisters and a great granddaughter Nicole Cohen. Viola is survived by Sandra Besette and her husband Reginald of Keeseville, NY, Jack Baker and his wife Sharon of Morrisville, NY, Darlene Goddeau and her husband Roy of Dannemora, NY, Cindy LaPorte and her husband Douglas of Jacksonville, NC, sister-in-law Paula Baker 18 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, three sisters; Emma Rexford of Plattsburgh, Gloria Breyette of Plattsburgh and Audrey Carrigan of Baldwinsville, NY and a brother Frances Baker and his wife Ortha of Harkness, NY, many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive her. Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday March 17, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday March 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in St. Augustine's Cemetery in Peru, NY later in the year.
