Virginia "Mae" Golden

Beekmantown Virginia "Mae" Golden, 91, formerly of Beekmantown, NY, passed away on Monday July 31, 2017 at the Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility. She was born in Beekmantown, NY on May 21, 1926 the daughter of Frank and Mary (Frenyea) Turner. Mae had a green thumb, and enjoyed spending time in her garden. She was a devout catholic, and could often be found praying the rosary. Mae was an avid New York Yankee fan. She was very sharp and still continued to do the crossword puzzles and word jumbles late in her life. Her greatest love was cooking, baking, and providing for her family, especially her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Francis Golden, her son, Richard "Dick" Golden, her daughter, Melanie Dowdle, her sisters; Eleanor Buckley, Jane Chauvin, and Marilyn and John Hutchison, her siblings-in-law; Raymond and Janet Golden, Margaret and Harold Forbes, Dorothy Golden, Ruth and Francis "Bud" Moore, and Marvin Weaver. Virginia is survived by her children; Thomas Golden and his companion Kim Rennie of Keeseville, Michael Golden and his wife Brenda of Morrisonville, Donald Golden and his wife Cathy of Indianapolis, IN, Maureen Bardelcik and her husband Dennis of Plattsburgh, Jim Golden and his wife Dawn of New Market, MD, her son-in-law, Jim Dowdle, her grandchildren; Kimberly, Michelle, Molly, Matt, Nicholle, Mark, Sarah, Jason, Stacey, Justine, Madeline, and Meredith, and several great-grandchildren, her siblings; Alice Racette and her husband Bob, Patricia Weaver, William Turner and his wife Gail, Mary Sickles and her husband Ronald, her sister-in-law Claire Lafferty, and her husband James, and brother-in-law, Clarence Golden, and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Thursday August 3, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 11:00 am, St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville. Entombment will follow in the Whispering Maples Mausoleum in Plattsburgh.
