Vivian Rose Kalinen

Vivian Rose Kalinen, 91, of Morrisonville, peacefully passed away Monday, February 8, 2021 at her home with family by her side. She was born in Utica, NY on August 5, 1929 the daughter of John and Marjorie (Clemons) Zimmerman.
Vivian was raised in Utica, NY by her Grandparents, Jenny and Arthur Clemons. She had fond memories of her time growing up on the family chicken farm. She relocated to the North Country in 1963. In 1970 while working at Aubuchon Hardware she met her husband, “Mr. K”. They were married in 1972 and blended their families. Bob and Vivian opened The Wishing Well Gift Shop in the North Country Shopping Center. “Mrs. K”, Mom, Granny always loved to cook a family feast and host family gatherings over the years. Christmas was her favorite Holiday; she would have their home decorated to the nines.
You would often find Vivian with her girlfriends or daughters playing scrabble. She loved her rose, flower and vegetable gardens, knitting, quilting, and crafting. She loved animals and Ricky, her cat, would sleep on her bed through her final days at home.
Vivian is survived by her husband, Robert, her daughters Kathy Rabideau, Marjorie (Bruce) Boissey, Suzanne (Tim) Haley, Caroline Buckley; step- children Arvid & Andrew Kalinen, Elaine Pomroy, grandchildren Theresa Perry, Kari Pearsall, Jennifer King, Kristopher Boissey, Trish Duffany, Laura Haley, Sarah, Mary, Kristina, Alicia and Robert Buckley, she is survived by 6 step-grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren including her name sake Vivian Rose Hack.
She was predeceased by her parents, grandparents, her sister Jean Smith, son Douglas MacDowall, Uncle Frank (Evelyn) Clemons, son-in-law Greg Buckley, and stepson Alan Kalinen.
A memorial service will be held at West Chazy Community Church February 20th and burial will be held on later date. Due to Covid attendance is restricted to family members. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Elmore SPCA, Peru, NY.
