Plattsburgh Mr. Walter A. Burdo, 98, formerly of Town Line Road Beekmantown passed away Thursday April 3, 2008 at the home of his son Donald on Franklin Avenue in Plattsburgh. He was born in Plattsburgh, New York on November 11, 1909 the son of Thomas W. and Emma (Coushene) Baker. Walter along with his wife Florence owned and operated Walt's Home Market on Rugar Street in Plattsburgh for many years. Together they were foster parents for ten years. He was a member of St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville. Walter is survived by a son Donald Burdo, Sr. and his wife Joan of Plattsburgh, three daughters Veronica Allen and her husband Raymond of Keeseville, Monica Bouyea of Plattsburgh, Donna Perry of Pryor, Oklahoma, nine grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive him. He was predeceased by his wife Florence Burdo, five sisters; Emily Pelkey, Jessie Mischler, Rena Gowett, Lydia Burdo and Louise Rock; four brothers, Leo, Norman, Lester and Thomas Burdo. Calling hours will be Sunday April 6, 2008 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Alexander's Church, Morrisonville. Interment will be at a later date at St. Peter's Cemetery.
