Wanda Jane Trudo

Wanda Jane Trudo of East Syracuse, NY passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, September 13, 2019 after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Wanda was born in Plattsburgh, NY on July 24, 1947; the daughter of William and Gladys (Peryea) Trudo. A 1964 graduate of St. John’s High School, Wanda earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Accounting at State University of New York at Canton in 1966.
Wanda proudly worked for the same company in Syracuse for 45 years. Hired as a payroll clerk for GE Aerospace, she retired from the same location as a Program Analyst for the corporate office of what had then become Lockheed Martin.
Wanda was a parishioner of St. Matthews Church, was always positive and saw the good in everything. She believed the best part of life is sharing but that going to Cape Cod each year was a close second. All holidays were cause for decorations throughout her house, but Christmas was when her house would come alive with no fewer than 11 Christmas trees. It was coined the “Christmas House,” where her annual Christmas feast brought together multiple generations of families for over 40 years. Wanda was an avid gardener who took pleasure in sharing and enjoying the fresh tomatoes and raspberries she grew in her own backyard.
Wanda was predeceased by her loving parents.
Wanda is survived by her cousin, or “brother” Robert Peryea and his wife Audrey of Plattsburgh, NY; goddaughters; Michelle Brown and her husband Robert of Wellesley, MA; Kelly Guthrie of Liverpool, NY, her aunt Fleure Ange “Fudge” Peryea of Plattsburgh, long-time close friends of over 50 years Barbara Garlock and Mickey Hunter and her husband Jim of Liverpool, NY, and Therese Taber and her husband Ed of Oswego, NY.
Calling hours will be on Friday, September 20, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad Street, Plattsburgh, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Church. Interment will be at Holy Angel’s Cemetery, Altona at 2:00 p.m..
A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Matthews Church in East Syracuse at a later date. Details will be in the Post-Standard, Syracuse, New York.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Central New York or the Michael J. Fox Foundation in memory of her parents.
