Wayne R Girard

Wayne R. Girard, 69, of Peryea Drive, passed away Monday, October 7, 2019 at the UVM Health Network-CVPH in Plattsburgh. He was born in Plattsburgh on December 16, 1949, the son of Gerald and Patricia (Lajoy) Girard.
Wayne owned and operated Joe’s Barber Shop in Plattsburgh for many years. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 4689 in Keeseville, a BINGO caller at OLVA and BINGO inspector for over 20 years, and a Boy Scout in his younger years. He enjoyed going to the casino, collecting model cars and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his spouse Helen Wood, his mother Patricia Girard of Plattsburgh, his step children; Roy Wood, his siblings; James “Jim” Girard of Plattsburgh, Gary and Theresa Girard of DeLeon Springs, Fl., Cindy and Skip Pender of Deland, Fl., 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father Gerald Girard and a grandson Nathan Wood
Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 11, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 10:00 am at St. Peter’s Church. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
