Wayne Lafountain

Altona Mr. Wayne R. Lafountain, 65, of Devils Den Road in Altona, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013 at the Aria Torresdale Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa. with his wife of 43 years, Peggy (LeClair) Lafountain and family by his side. He was born in Plattsburgh on March 27, 1948, the son of the late Norman and Lillian (Lashway) Lafountain. Wayne was a retired roofer. He enjoyed his time with his family especially playing kickball and playing cards with his grandkids. Four wheeling was a passion Wayne shared with his wife and kids. He will be remembered for his rides in the Altona and Mooers parades and pulling Santa at Feinberg Park. He also enjoyed plowing snow in the winter. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Peggy (LeClair) Lafountain, two sons and their spouses; Brent Lafountain and companion Sarah, Clay and Michelle Lafountain, his brothers and their spouses; Gerald and Loretta Lafountain, Norman and Sandy Lafountain, Clarence and Paulette Lafountain, his sisters in law; Lorraine Lafountain and Wanda Lafountain, his mother in law; Virginia LeClair, his grandchildren; Brittany and Abby, Aleyah and Hunter, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Cory, granddaughter Alexys Rose, a sister, Mildred Lashway, brothers Kenneth, Larry, Maynard and Sonny Lafountain , and father in law Eugene LeClair. Calling hours will be Tuesday August 27, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Altona, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, March August 28, 2013 at 1:30 pm at Holy Angels Church in Altona. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
