Wayne H Potter

Mr. Wayne H. Potter, 84, of Labarre Street in Plattsburgh, passed away on Saturday March 3, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family and under the care of Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Santa Clara, NY on April 26, 1927, the son of Lyman and Mildred (Sweet) Potter. Wayne served in the U.S. Navy and later was employed at Tru-Stitch in Malone and later at ALCOA in Massena many years until his retirement. Wayne is survived by his wife, Losia, a son and daughter in law: Gary Potter and his wife Margaret of Tennessee, a brother Leroy Potter of Malone, N.Y., Losia's children; Keith Yelle and his wife Susan of Colonie, N.Y. and Shirley Haskins of Plattsburgh, eight grandchildren; Scott and his wife Elizabeth Haskins, Lori Abelson, Kari McCabe and her husband Brian, Richard Burnley, Stacy Cogan and her husband Jason, nine great grandchildren; Sarah Abelson, McKenize and Chantal Haskins, Julianna, Cassidy and Abigail McCabe, Valerie, Kaitlyn and Sara Burnley, James and Danielle Langlois. He was predeceased by his first wife Loretta, son-in-law Calvin Haskins, two brothers; David and Robert Potter and two grandsons; Michael Abelson and James R. Hathaway. Calling hours will be held on Friday March 9, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad Street in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday March 10, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville. Internment will be in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered to Hospice of the North Country or the St. Alexander's Building Fund.
