Wiliam Joseph Martin Jr

William “Billy” Joseph Martin Jr, 72, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2023 at his residence in Plattsburgh. Billy was born January 12, 1951, in Plattsburgh. He was the son of William and Francis (Boyd) Martin.

Billy was a long-time member of Advocacy and Resource Center (ARC). He loved to make people smile, and he loved the holidays he spent with his family. Billy was a huge fan of the NY Yankees. He was well known for his smile and big heart. He loved kids, he really enjoyed them. He enjoyed rides home from holidays singing with his niece Lee Ann.

Billy is survived by his loving sister Mary Lou Ouimette of Champlain, another sister Shirley Belrose of Chazy, and one brother, Glenn Martin, Plattsburgh. Great Niece Lee Ann (John) See and their son Colton See. Her son, Christopher Garrant. Niece Mary Ann Ouimette & Robert Buskey. His nephews Kenneth & Wayne Ouimette, and Roger K Ouimette Jr. & Cathy. Their Children Michelle (Jesse) Deno, Sarah Ouimette (Joni), and lastly Jeffery (Connie) Ouimette and their children Jonathan Ouimette and Holly Ouimette (Joey Porter). Brother-in-law Norman Sorrell and his daughter with Beverly, Carol Ann Hempstead & her husband Roger and their girls Arianne and Jasmine, several nieces and nephews and his extended ARC Family.

He was predeceased by his parents William and Francis; his sisters, Caroline Duprey, and Beverly Sorrell; and three brothers-in-law, Harold Belrose, Roger Ouimette Sr, and Kenneth Duprey, and his great-nephew Roger K. Ouimette III.


Calling hours will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 11:00-1:00pm at Brown’s Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Burial will follow at Holy Angel Cemetery in Altona, NY.
