William S Brown

Plattsburgh William S. Brown, 72, of Champlain St., passed away Saturday, April 26, 2008 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. William was born in Plattsburgh on September 6, 1935, the son of William and Gertrude (Burnell) Brown. William was corrections officer at Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora for over 36 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Kushaqua Hunting Club in Onchiota. He was a member of St. Peter's Church. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, camper and bowler. He is survived by his wife of over 52 years, Carol (Girard) Brown, his children- Bruce and Pam Brown of Vancouver, Wa., Cheryl Brown and fiancé Joe of Syracuse, Richard and Annie Brown of Plattsburgh, Marylou and Steven Burdo of Altona, Jeffrey Brown of Tampa, Fl., Christopher and Tonya Brown of Plattsburgh, Susan and Bernie Bushey of Plattsburgh, a sister- Loretta Parker of Champlain, 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. His parents, his brother Harold, 2 sisters- Rita Giles and Theresa Poissant and a grandson Bradley Brown died before him. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Wednesday from St. Peter's Church, 114 Cornelia Street in Plattsburgh.
