William L Cook

William L. Cook, 79, of Nelson Road, Plattsburgh, NY, passed away on Friday, December 14, 2018 at the UVM Health Network-CVPH with family by his side. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY on February 12, 1939, the son of the late William E. and Cora (Ogden) Cook. William graduated from Peru Central School and soon after joined the United States Army. After being honorably discharged he came back to Plattsburgh where he worked at the Cumberland Hotel, at Plattsburgh Air Force Base and then Georgia Pacific as a Machine Operator, retiring after 34 years in 2004. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and camping. William was predeceased by his wife LaCinda Cook in 2014, his parents, his siblings; Ralph, Dale, Claude, Robert and Mary, a great grandson, Tucker Stickle and a brothers in law, Walter Kemp, III and George Rivers. He is survived five children; Kevin Cook and his companion Kathy Tudor of Hampton, NY, Patricia Cook and her companion Don Acors of Mooers, NY, William Cook, Jr.of Altona, NY, Nancy Stickle and her husband Henry of Plattsburgh and Jacqueline Stickle and her husband Edward of Morrisonville, his sister; Barbara Reddington of CA, 16 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive him. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 pm in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Gilliland Cemetery in Plattsburgh at a later date. Donations in William's memory may be made to Gilliland Cemetery.
