William H "Bill" Lepage

July 10, 1927 — April 20, 2019

William H. “Bill” LePage, 91, of Plattsburgh passed away Saturday April 20, 2019 at the Meadowbrook Health Care Facility with his loving family by his side. He was born in Winthrop, Massachusetts on July 10, 1927 the son of Francis and Eva (Baker) LePage. Bill was a graduate of St. John’s Academy. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U. S. Navy from 1944 to 1948 as a metalsmith 1st Class. Bill married Anna Mae LaBarge in 1948. She predeceased him in 1988. He retired from New York State Department of Corrections in 1985 after serving more than three decades of service. Bill served as an Alderman for Ward 2 in the city of Plattsburgh and later as a Clinton County Legislator and a councilman in the Town of Schuyler Falls for many years. He coached Little League Baseball for many years and later served as manager of the Clinton County Fair for 14 years. He was a lifelong New York Yankees fan and shared this passion with his wife Doris. A deeply religious man, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council of Treadwells Mills, Bishop Wadhams Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, and St. Alexander’s Church where he enjoyed singing in the church choir. Bill enjoyed his pets Zoe and Banker and being with family and friends while scarfing down a Ted’s Fish Fry.
He was predeceased by his parents, his first wife Anna Mae LePage, siblings; Jack and his wife Virginia, Sue Smith and her husband Smitty, June Senecal and her husband Ralph. He was also predeceased by his in-laws; Pearl LePage, George Bishop, Ron Dow and Bill Aubin.
Bill is survived by his wife of thirty years Doris (Menard) LePage, his children and their spouses; Karan and Thomas Mercadante, William and Sharon LePage Jr., his siblings; Robert “Bob” LePage, James and Gail LePage, Judith and Reinaldo “Ray” Lizardi, Joan Bishop, Carol Dow, Claudette Aubin and companion Simon Perry, Donna and Wayne LaBonte, thirteen grandchildren, Jamie (Kevin) Bulriss, Jackie (Frank) Dashnaw, Leanne and Anthony Mercadante, Steven (Krystal) Mercadante, Jared, Chase and Will Pellerin, Ali (Mike) Kinahan, Demi (Adam) Cook, Dawson Pellerin and Jacob Sanders, seven great grandchildren; Liam, Frankie, Willow, Jackson, Eva, Charlie and Dominic, his step children and spouses; Bruce (Susan) Pellerin, Allen (Tracy) Pellerin, Brenda Pellerin-Sanders, Sherri (Jack) Rugar, several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, April 25, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alexander’s Church.
Interment will be at a later date at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Members of the Knight of Columbus Council of Treadwells Mills are asked to meet Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. for services.
Friends wishing may make donations to Seton Catholic or St. Alexander’s Church.
