William J. Light

William “Bill” Light, Sr., 81, of West Chazy, NY, went to be with the Lord on December 10, 2023. He is survived by his loving wife, Eleanor, whom he shared 44 wonderful years; a son, William Light, Jr. (Erin) of Plattsburgh; a daughter, Nicole Light and companion James Smith, of Plattsburgh; his stepsons; Terry Macey (Lynne), of West Chazy; and Scott Macey, Sr. (Judy), of Manchester, CT; grandchildren, Jeffery, Courtney, Tabitha (Michael), Scott, Jr. (Jamie), Bradley, Chloe, Hunter, and Harper; a sister, Joan Banker (Bob), of Peasleeville; and sister, Sue Lamora (Dave), of Plattsburgh. William is also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, William and Margaret Rivers, he was predeceased by his grandsons, Boone Light; and Grady Light. William devoted 30 years at the Clinton County Highway Department before retiring in 2004. He was an enthusiastic hunter who recorded an 11 point buck with the NYS Big Buck Club. He was also an avid New York Yankees fan. Aside from his family, William very much enjoyed spending quality time with his lifelong friends; whom he cherished dearly. William will always be remembered for his big heart and infectious smile. Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023 from 9:00 to 10:30 am at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad Street in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
