William “Bill” Santa, 79 of Estero, FL passed peacefully on Tuesday May 24, 2022.
He was born in the Bronx, NY, the son of the late Daniel Santa and Irene Weiss Santa. He spent most of his childhood in Rye, NY before moving to Plattsburgh. In 2000 he retired and moved to Florida.
Surviving are his wife, Carol Geng Santa; sons, Daniel Santa (Gayle Santa) and Glenn Santa (Kelle Santa); two granddaughters; three great grandchildren; brothers, James Santa and Frank Santa; and sister, Donna Santa.
He was a successful Plattsburgh businessman who founded Bill Santa Pontiac and also owned and operated Hometown Radio WIRY. He had been an active member of the New York Auto Dealers Association, the Plattsburgh Chamber of Commerce, and the Kiwanis Club. Bill served his country in the US Army.
Bill was friendly, good natured, and easy to talk to and thus was liked and respected by the Plattsburgh business community, colleagues, and friends. He was an avid golfer, who loved gadgets, playing poker, and driving his Tesla around southwest Florida.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held in Plattsburgh, NY at a later date this summer.
A private interment will take place at Sarasota National Cemetery with Military Honors.
