William F "Bill" Singley

Plattsburgh Mr. William F. "Bill" Singley, 86, of Main Mill St., Plattsburgh, NY passed away Sunday July 3, 2016 at the Fletcher Allen Hospital in Burlington, VT with his loving family by his side. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY on July 21, 1929 the stepson of Garrett and Vermadell (Sharron) Myers. Bill was a veteran of the U. S. Army from July 1948 to June 1952 as T/SGT Paratroop Jumpmaster 82nd Airborne at Fort Bragg, NC. He retired from Imperial Wallpaper Mill after 40 years of service and he served as union president. He enjoyed playing golf, pinochle, bowling and was the president of the Industrial Bowling League, playing softball as a player/manager of the Deliri team. He coached women's softball teams. Bill was an avid New England Patriots fan and he was scoutmaster. He was a gardener and enjoyed woodworking, building and giving bird houses to family and friends. In his later years he enjoyed watching his nephews in all of their sports. Bill was a member of American Legion Post 20 and Our Lady of Victory Church where he served as a past council president. He was predeceased by his parents. Bill is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 65 years Beverly (Bouyea) Singley of Plattsburgh. They were married July 21, 1951 at Our Lady of Victory Church. He is also survived by two daughters; Linda Bushey and her husband Dan of Morrisonville, Susan Bouyea and her husband George of Plattsburgh, a sister Joan Yergens and her husband William of Randolph, NY, his sisters-in-law Eileen Bouyea of Plattsburgh, Brenda King of Plattsburgh and her sons; Chris King and his family of Morrisonville and Craig King and his family of Plattsburgh and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday July 6, 2016 from 2:00 p.m.to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St.in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church with the Rev. William G. Reamer, Pastor presiding. Interment with military honors will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered to Our Lady of Victory Church or the charity of one's choice.
