William O "Bill" Tart

Mr. William O. "Bill" Tart, 82, of North Catherine Street, Plattsburgh, New York passed away January 22, 2009 at the Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility in Burlington, Vermont. He was born in Essex, New York on December 2, 1926 the son of William A. and Clara (L'Esperance) Tart. Bill had been a salesman for many years, retiring from Plattsburgh Distributing. He was a Life Member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Keeseville Lodge #2072 and the Knights of Columbus Council #255 in Plattsburgh. Bill enjoyed bowling, playing golf and he was a member of St. Peter's Church where he served as an usher. He was predeceased by his parents William A. and Clara Tart, a son William O. Tart, Jr. Bill is survived by his wife of sixty years Eleanor (Ayotte) Tart, two daughters; Michele Pendergraft and her husband Thomas of Fredericksburg, VA, Suzanne May and her husband Duncan of Livermore, CA, two grand daughters; Courtney Tart and Lindsay Tart both of Cold Spring Harbor, Long Island, a daughter-in-law Michelle Gerka of Syracuse, NY, several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Sunday January 25, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, January 26, 2009 at St. Peter's Church at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will be at a later date at St. Peter's Cemetery Columbarium. Members of the Keeseville Elks are asked to meet Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home for services. Members of the Knights of Columbus are asked to meet Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home for services. Donations in Bill's memory may be made to William O.
