William J Wyman

William John Wyman, 90, died peacefully on Monday February 7, 2022 at Meadowbrook Health Care Facility. Bill was born in Hornell N.Y. on December 16, 1931, to Julia and Jim. He had older siblings Edward and Jean who are pre-deceased. He was active in the local Boy Scout troop and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. After completing high school, he decided to serve his country and joined the U.S Air Force. He served with distinction and honor for 27 years and attained the highest rank possible for a non-commissioned officer, Chief Master Sergeant, before retiring in 1987. During his time in the military, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree as well as an MBA. from Eastern New Mexico University in Portales N.M. He was pursuing a PhD at SUNY Plattsburgh at the time of his death. After retiring from the military, he worked for Link CAE as a military contractor for an additional 17 years before retiring completely. Bill and his family moved several times during his life crisscrossing the country twice until finally settling in Plattsburgh in 1980. In retirement, he volunteered at the Clinton County Senior Center helping during tax season. Bill and Margo traveled extensively in retirement both here and abroad.
Bill is survived by his wife of 59 years Margo, two sons; Richard and his wife Kathy, Mark and his wife Janine, his grandchildren Christopher, Katie, and Michael, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh.
Funeral service will follow at 1:30 with the Rev. Bill Edwards officiating, followed by military honors.
