Winifred Rose Frennier, 85, of Lafayette Street, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at her home under the loving care of her family and Hospice of the North Country’s wonderful nurse Katie.
She was born in Ellenburg Center on May 12, 1935, the daughter of the late Amos and Florence (Monette) Trombley. She was married to the love of her life for over 65 years, Arthur E. Frennier. Together, they raised 8 children and were blessed with grandchildren and great grandchildren. Winnie was a loving and devoted wife, mother and Grandma.
Winnie was employed as a coordinator for JCEO in Plattsburgh for almost 30 years and was a faithful member of St. Peter’s Parish. Her love was her family and her home was open to all. She was also an outstanding cook, great teacher and was a mother figure to many.
She is survived by five children and their families; Steven Frennier and his wife Dawn (Justin and Jenna), Elizabeth (Betty) Muller and her husband Shane ( Erik and Jason), Susan Engstrom and her husband Dan (Glenn, Jessica and Joel), Ellen Delong and her children Erika and Trevor, Michael Frennier and his wife Lori (Christopher, Corryn and Tyler) , her siblings; Rolland (Bonnie) Trombley, Leon (Janice) Trombley, Alva (Dick) Benware, Linda Fifield, Leslie (Georgianna) Trombley, Mary Cordaro , Alan (Caryl) Trombley, Angela (Dale) Nephew, a son in law: Terry Lozier (Jamie, Cory and Lindsey) , a daughter in law Julie Frennier (Adam and Cale), a sister in law; Rose Trombley, and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Arthur E. Frennier, her sons Arthur “Artie” Frennier and Ronald Frennier, a daughter Kathy Lozier, , her siblings; Amos Trombley Jr., Lorin Trombley, Rose Nelson, Nancy McRoberts, a special brother in law; Dale Fifield, and an infant grandson Dion Delong.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 18, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 19, 2021 at 1:30 pm at St. Peter’s Church. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be offered to Hospice of the North Country.
