Yvonne M Grigware

Plattsburgh Yvonne M. Grigware, 80, of the Akey Road, Morrisonville, and formerly of Marcy Lane, Plattsburgh passed away Monday, September 15, 2008 at her home. She was born in Champlain, New York on November 1, 1927, daughter of the late Joseph and Lillian (Gokey) Boulerice. Yvonne was a graduate of St. Mary's Academy, Champlain, New York Class of 1944 and a graduate of the Champlain Valley School of Nursing, Class of 1948. She attended Middle Tennessee State College from 1954 to 1955 and Syracuse University from 1957 to 1958. In 1965 she received her Bachelor of Science degree in School Nursing from SUNY Plattsburgh and her Masters of Science degree in School Nursing also from SUNY Plattsburgh. Yvonne was employed at Clinton County Public Health Department from 1957 to 1961 as a Public Health Nurse. She was employed as a school nurse teacher at Saranac Central School from 1961 until her retirement in 1983. Yvonne was a member of the Saranac Teachers Association, the New York State Retired Teachers Association, the New York State United Teachers, the Ladies of the Elk's Plattsburgh Lodge #621 and the SUNY Plattsburgh Alumni Association. She was a former member of St. Mary's of the Lake Church, Cumberland Head and most recently St. James Church in Cadyville. Yvonne married Robert J. Grigware on September 4, 1948 at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh, New York. He preceded her in death on November 21, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Lillian Boulerice and a brother George Boulerice. Yvonne is survived by a brother Clifford and his wife Jane Boulerice of Mooers Forks, two sisters; Gladys and her husband George Racine of Champlain and Doris Burdo of Peru, several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be on Wednesday September 17, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday September 18, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at St. James Church in Cadyville.
